Mr. Tony Artis, age 54, of Kenansville, died Sunday, October 5,
2014 at his home.
Funeral services will be held from the Rose Hill Funeral Home
Chapel, 472 Wells Town Road, Rose Hill, on Saturday, October 11,
2014 at 2 pm. Rev. Michael H. Maddox officiating. Burial will
follow at Rose Hill Funeral Home Cemetery, Magnolia.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories; one daughter, Aquana
Leak of Kenansville; step-mother, Ruth Artis of Magnolia; six
brothers: Gregory Artis (Mary) of Magnolia, Maurice Artis of Kenansville,
Christopher Artis of Alabama, Jeffrey Artis of Warsaw, Michael
McCallop (Teresa) of Raleigh and Tyrone Artis of North Dakota;
five sisters: Joyce Artis Murphy (Howard) of Wallace, Joann Artis
Faison of Bronx, NY, Kathy Sloan (Harry) of Kenansville, Brenda
Wilson (Carl) of Magnolia and Gloria Artis of Magnolia; five step-brothers:
John Farrior, Jr. (Pam) of Seattle, WA, Bruce Farrior of Virginia,
Eddie Farrior of Georgia, Willie Farrior of Magnolia and Sidney
Farrior (Denise) of Louisiana; four step-sisters: Angela Smith
(Jessie) of Warsaw, Mary Ann Giles (Harris) of Dudley, Jennifer
Hall of Magnolia and Regina Boney (Raymond) of Durham; one aunt,
Hattie McCallop; one sister-in-law: Wanda Artis; a host of nieces,
nephews and other loving relatives and friends.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Saturday, October
11, 2014 from 1 pm to 2 pm, one hour prior to the service.
Mrs. Karen Jeffers Carr, age 46, of Wilmington, formerly of Duplin
County, died Sunday, October 12, 2014 at New Hanover Regional
Medical Center, Wilmington.
Funeral services will be held from Adoram Missionary Baptist Church,
Old Teachey Road, Wallace, on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at 1
pm. Bishop E.G. Williams officiating. Burial will follow at Duplin
Memorial Gardens, Teachey.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband, Christopher
Carr of Wilmington; four children: Lateefa Dawson of Waldorf,
MD, Jazmon S. Carr, Alena C. Carr and Christopher J. Carr, II,
all of Wilmington; mother, Kathleen Jeffers of Wallace; one sister,
Cassandra Highsmith (David) of Raleigh; maternal grandmother,
Helen Jones of Wallace; three uncles; three aunts; mother-in-law,
Lillie Carr of Wallace; father-in-law, William Gray, III of Richmond,
VA; one sister-in-law, one brother-in-law; and a host of other
loving relatives and friends.
A visitation of family and friends will be held on Friday, October
17, 2014 from 4 to 5 pm at Prayer and Bible Church of God for
All People, 302 Southern Blvd., Wilmington.
Mrs. Catherine Stallings Graham, age 95, of Pink Hill, died Thursday,
October 16, 2014 at Brian Center of Wallace.
Funeral services will be held from Graham Chapel Church, Pink
Hill, on Saturday, October 25, 2014 at 11 am. Pastor Robert Edward
Pearl, Sr. officiating. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories one daughter, Annie
C. Pearl (Edgar) of Pink Hill; one brother, Jarvis Stallings (Marie)
of Chinquapin; two sisters: Evelyn Graham of Wallace and Ardetha
Smith (Joel) of Durham; two grandchildren, four great-grandchildren;
nieces, nephews and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
A viewing will be held on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10 to
11 am, one hour prior to the service.
