Alphonzo Ziegfield Zanders, Jr.

Mr. Alphonzo Ziegfield Zanders, Jr., age 81, of Leland, NC died Friday, November 5, 2021, at home. Funeral service will be Thursday, November 11, 2021, at 12:00 o’clock noon at New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2283 S NC Hwy 11 in Rose Hill, NC. Interment will follow at the New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. Left to cherish his memories are his wife, Wanda Gail Chasten Zanders of Leland; four children: Dellaleah McKay of Garner, NC, Robertino Zanders, Sr. (Cornelia) of Raleigh, NC, Marcus Batts of Damascus, MD, and Tocarra Batts Barnes (Kevin) of Raleigh, NC; eight grandchildren, four brothers-in-law, three sisters-in-law; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends that will miss him dearly. A viewing will be held on Thursday, November 11, 2021, at the church from 11:00 am to 12:00 noon, one hour prior to the service.
