Mr. John Thomas Williams,  also known as,  Mr. Johnny, age 100, of Wallace, NC, passed away on Monday, October 12, 2026, at ECU Duplin Hospital in Kenansville, NC. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, October 17, 2026 at 11:00am at New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2283 S. Hwy 11, Rose Hill, NC. Public viewing will be held from 10:00am - 10:45am (prior to service). The internment will be held on a later date at the church cemetery.                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              Mr. Williams is a native of  Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, where he worked in public safety. Serving with the City of Philadelphia Police Department and later with the Philadelphia Housing Authority Police Department. He was also a proud World War II veteran, who served his country faithfully in the United Sates Navy.  Mr. Williams and his wife relocated to Duplin County in 1996. As long as his health permitted, he was a dedicated member of New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church and a compassionate and helpful funeral assistant at Rose Hill Funeral Home, Inc.   

He leaves to cherish his memory: wife, Edna Highsmith Williams, a granddaughter, Kareva; great-grandson, Reno; a host of loving nieces, nephews, and other extended family members who will carry his joyful spirit forward. 

Family will receive friends at the home of the deceased. Due to delayed burial, the family is requesting no large standing sprays.
