Jonathan "Bud" Matthews, Jr.

Mr. Jonathan Matthews, Jr., aka “Bud”, of Rose Hill, NC (The Greenevers Community) passed away on Friday, September 13, 2024 at Golden Years Nursing Home in Falcon, NC.

A viewing will be held on Wednesday, September 18, 2024 from 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm at New Christian Chapel Missionary Baptist Church, 2283 S NC 11 Hwy in Rose Hill, NC followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at the church cemetery.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories one son, Jonathan Matthews, III (Natishia) of Fayetteville, NC; three daughters: Catina Matthews and Shaquetta Matthews, both of Goldsboro, NC and Ieshia Murray of Fayetteville, NC; four sisters: Mamie Chasten of Durham, NC, Janice Pickett of Rose Hill, NC, Aline Williams of Teachey, NC and Catherine Pickett (Danny) of Chinquapin, NC; one uncle, Bobby Carr; ten grandchildren, six great-grandchildren; mother-in-law: Sadie Lee Murray; brother-in-law, Troy O. Murray; three sisters-in-law: Linda Murray, Cora Lee Murray and Henrietta Williams (Andrew); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss him dearly.
