Mrs. Latisha Melinda Scott, age 39, of Wallace, NC passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at Duke University Hospital in Durham, NC.

Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, December 23, 2025, at 1:00 pm at the Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel in Rose Hill, NC. Burial will follow at Carr Family Cemetery, Ed Carr Lane in Rose Hill, NC.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Swavea Southerland of the home; children: Martez J. Carr of Kansas City, MO (Ft. Riley); two daughters: Mieshia J. and Miriah O. Southerland, both of Wallace, NC; mother, Vera Scott Lemon of Wallace, NC; father, Johnnie Lee Carr, Jr. (Shanita) of Clinton, NC; two brothers: DeVante’ Grover of Ivanhoe, NC and Cameron Carr of Clinton, NC; three sisters: Catyra Scott Grant (Terrell) of Las Vegas, NE, LaQuandra Graham (Christopher) of Warsaw, NC and Kendall Carr of Clinton, NC; grandfather, Johnnie Lee Carr, Sr.; mother-in-law, Jennifer J. Herring of Williamston, NC; four aunts, two uncles, ten great-aunts, three great-uncles; one brother-in-law; special cousins: Shona Carr, David Hall and Daishia Shepard; special uncle, Barry McGee; special aunt, Shekema Williams; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
