Mrs. Lawanda Southerland Newberne, age 57, of Kenansville, NC passed away on Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Clinton, NC.

A visitation of family and friends will be held on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 from 5:00 pm to 6:00 pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home, 472 Wells Town Road in Rose Hill, NC. The funeral service will be held on Wednesday, September 4, 2024 at 2:00 pm at Big Zion AME Zion Church in Kenansville, NC. Burial will follow at the Southerland Family Cemetery in Magnolia, NC.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories, husband, Michael Newberne of Kenansville, NC; daughter, Makayla Newberne of Magnolia, NC; mother, Mavis Southerland of Magnolia, NC; brother, Michael Southerland (Paula) of Dover, DE; sisters, Bonita C. Bouyer and Anita Southerland, both of Magnolia, NC; mother-in-law, Mildred Green of Pink Hill, seven sisters-in-law, four brothers-in-law; nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
