OBITUARY

Rev. Michelle Chevette Newby, age 58, of Wallace, NC, passed away on Wednesday, April 29, 2026 at her home.

She is survived by her one son, Jamel Newby of Hyattsville, MD; three daughters: Chaquatta Newby of Washington, DC, Kortnee Newby (Clifton) and Summer Newby, both of Charlotte, NC; father, Michael Newby of Texas; one brother, Michael Newby of Washington, DC, one sister, Marsha Swails (Antonio) of Laurel, MD; four grandchildren, three aunts; several nieces and nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.

A celebration of life with time and venue will be announced at a later date.
