Minister Mary Lillie Merritt Mathis, age 79, of Magnolia, NC Was Added to Heavens Garden on Thursday, December 3, 2020, at SECU Hospice House, Smithfield, NC. A private funeral service will be 1:00 pm Wednesday, December 9, 2020, at Rose Hill Funeral Home Chapel, 472 Wells Town Road, Rose Hill, NC. Pastor James Faison, III, officiating. Burial will follow at Merritt Cemetery, Magnolia, NC (Waycross Community). Left to cherish her precious memories: three sons: Lynn Mathis of Mt. Olive, Joel Mathis of Magnolia and Jamel Mathis (Demetria) of Newton Grove; one daughter, Jennifer Bland of Magnolia; one brother, Thurman Merritt of Rose Hill; one sister, Ruth Carr of Kenansville; eight grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and friends that will miss her dearly.
