Mrs. Ozelle Crooms Sharpless, age 86, of Goldsboro, NC, passed away on Saturday, May 2, 2026 at ECU Health Medical Center in Greenville, NC.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 14, 2026 from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Rose Hill Funeral Home in Rose Hill. The funeral service will be held at First African Baptist Church in Goldsboro, NC on Friday, May 15, 2026 at 2:00 pm. Burial will be held at Eastern Carolina State Veteran’s Cemetery in Goldsboro, NC on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 12:00 noon.

Left to cherish her precious memories are her husband, Casey Sharpless of the home; two sons: Marcus Sharpless of Alexandria, VA and Kenneth Sharpless (Ava) of Lorton, VA; one daughter, Wanda Gooden of Yorktown, VA; one brother-in-law, Norman Sharpless of Hillside, NJ; three sisters-in-law: Marie Carrington of Hampton, VA and Susie Hodges of Littleton, NC, Eleanor Sharpless of Jacksonville, NC; three grandchildren: Eric Sharpless, Kenneth Sharpless, II and Hannah Gooden; one great-grandchild, James Daniel Russell; special cousin, Dorothy Neal; numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends that will miss her dearly.
