Samuel Leroy Newton

Mr. Samuel Leroy Newton, age 82, of Jacksonville, NC passed away on Sunday, April 27, 2025 at Cape Fear Valley Health in Fayetteville, NC.

A viewing will be on Tuesday, May 6, 2025 from 12:00 noon to 12:45 pm at St. James United Holy Church in Maple Hill, NC followed by the funeral service at 1:00 pm. Burial will be at the Newton Family Cemetery in Maple Hill, NC.

He leaves to cherish his precious memories his wife, Assetou Newton; three daughters: Corrina Newton Pohl, Angela Newton Caswell and Yvonne Newton Price; two step-sons: Moses Azar and Etienne Azar; three brothers: John L Newton, Jr. (Beulah), David Newton and Calvin Newton (Thelma); three sisters: Virginia Simmons (Benny), Annie Ruth Hickey and Callie M. Simmons (Edward); six grandchildren, four great-grandchildren; one sister-in-law, Barbara Newton a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends who loved him and will miss him dearly.
